A big thank-you to everyone who came to our open day. Whether you were one of our helpers or just there to support us. It was a fantastic afternoon, there were a few showers, but the marquee loaned by Wimbledon Greyhound Welfare kept us all dry and the sun soon came out. And in the meantime there was plenty of indoor activities including the meerkats in the photo.
We raised a total of £241.80 for our chosen charities, and all the raffle prize winners will soon be contacted to come and collect their prizes. Lots of pictures to follow on our Facebook page.
Thanks again to everyone

A variant of bird flu (avian influenza H5N8) has been discovered in the wild bird population in mainland Europe. Although the risks to humans is low and there has, so far, been no cases in the UK, DEFRA have ordered that for the next 30 days keepers of poultry and other captive birds are kept indoors, or appropriate biosecurity measures are taken to keep them separate from wild birds. Please call the surgery if you have any questions.

We have been working for a little while to try and make our reception area work for all the different species of animals that we see, and now we have almost finished . We have created 2 alcoves, one just for dogs and one just for cats. This is to ensure that your pet does not come into contact with other animals that may scare them during their visit to us. We also have tables to put cat baskets on so they are kept off the floor. There is also bench seating out of the alcoves for any animal (or human) to use. And we have a very purple floor and some cat & dog artwork!

Lower reception desk in the cat zone
We have change the reception desk so Kim & Maggie are no longer hidden from the cat zone. We are now starting to plan how we can get more seats into reception, and will hopefully make the changes over the summer.
