Ark Vets can provide written prescriptions for drugs for you to purchase the medication from an online pharmacy. The following process needs to be followed so we can either send the prescription directly to the online pharmacy of your choice or give you the hardcopy that you can send to the pharmacy.

We do legally have to have examined your animal within a certain time frame before we can issue a prescription, so the amount of medication allowed can be less that you request depending on when the next examination is due. And if the examination is overdue we will need to see your pet before we can issue the prescription.

Hardcopy Written Prescription

The prescription will be marked as “Hardcopy only to be accepted” as this is a legal requirement and we will NOT be able to give you a replacement if it is lost. It is your responsibility to send the prescription to the pharmacy and we recommend to send by recorded delivery.

• The vet will prepare the prescription and you will be emailed when it is ready to pay for and collect

Online Written Prescription

We will send the prescription directly to the online pharmacy of your choice so you will need to request the medication online and then send us the order number.

• We will will email you to let you know the prescription is ready and you need to do the following
  • Phone the surgery and pay for the prescription
  • If you have not yet purchased the drugs, then request them online and send reception the order number from the online pharmacy
• We will email the written prescription to the online pharmacy using the email & order number you have provided
• We will email you to confirm that the prescription has been sent

Note

We have no control over any medication purchased from online pharmacies or any relationship with the online pharmacies.

• If there are any issues with the medication provided by the online pharmacy, you will need to deal with the pharmacy directly to resolve it
• As you are not purchasing the medication from us, we may not hold it in stock to fill any delay from the online pharmacy
